We Sing For Joy

But the righteous shall be glad; they shall
exult before God; they shall be jubilant with joy!
Psalm 68:3

Joy is a constant theme throughout the Bible. From God delighting in His good creation in Genesis to the marriage supper of the Lamb in Revelation, we see the concept of joy. We are told that the joy of the Lord is our strength (Neh. 8:10), that we should rejoice in the Lord always (Phil. 4:4) even when we are sorrowful (2 Cor. 6:10), that joy comes in the morning (Ps. 30:5), and on and on.

True joy, especially in the face of difficulty, is only possible if we are in right standing with God. It is only legitimate if it is based in the person and work of Jesus Christ,  and not in our circumstances. In Him alone can we know the peace that passes understanding.
