Loving the Unlovely

Equality. Justice. Dignity. Worth.

These words may conjure up various images and talking points. While culture and society define these words in many different ways, it is imperative to allow the Bible to inform and shape our beliefs. In Romans 3, we see that all of humanity is equal in our need of forgiveness. Being made in God's image, we know that all people are equally endowed with dignity. But being sinners, we are also equally owed the wages of that sin: death. 

Through Christ, God shows His love for sinners. Through Christ, we see God's heart for the undeserving, the helpless, the unlovely.

May this song give you the vocabulary to praise the One who accepts sinners. Even you. Even me! And may it spur us on to reflect God's gracious affection to those around us.
