Our Savior and Friend

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him was not any thing made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

The deity of Christ is on full display in the first chapter of John. While some deny this doctrine, it is undeniably biblical and necessary. This hypostatic union of Christ's divine and human natures is a difficult (or impossible) concept to fully comprehend. My goal in this song was to celebrate the mystery of Christ, admitting our inability to fully grasp such a beautiful reality.
